Tecnopolo Mario Veronesi (TPM) is a research center located in the biomedical district of Mirandola, really close to Modena. Which involves more than 90 enterprises focused on the development and production of medical devices for Apheresis and Plasmapheresis, Haemodialysis, Heart surgery and so on. TPM houses four laboratories, all organized and managed in partnership with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia: TOP Toxicology they conduct chemical characterisations and subscribe protocols for analitic’s methods validation, MAB Applied Microscopy and Cellular Biology for example they work on advanced therapy and regenerative medicine, Bioprinting, label free analysis, MS2 Materials, Sensors and Systems this laboratory conducts functionalisation and analysis of innovative materials using sophisticated instrumentation, and Usability Lab where is possible to try medical devices, and it is used to verify the correct functioning and design of a product.

In the last few years, the MS2 laboratory has focused on the study of polypropylene hollow fibre, which is widely used in the Mirandola Biomedical District for the production of medical devices used for extracorporeal circulation, and not only, in fact, the fibre can have a wide range of uses: from medical use, to the food field, to water purification. In particular, the MS2 research laboratory has developed specific expertise in the design and engineering of hollow fibre production systems using TIPS technology.
